The Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Coliseum was erected in Evansville, Indiana, in 1916, at a cost of $180,000.00, exclusive of ground, and today provides a modern Convention Hall with a seating capacity of 2400,standing room capacity of 4055, as well as quarters for the patriotic societies of Vanderburgh County. The Veterans Memorial Coliseum has been maintained by the Vanderburgh County Veterans Council since 1971, and is used for sporting events, exhibitions, stage plays, wedding receptions, musical productions, bingo, concerts, and principle home of the Evansville Rotary Club.
